About Us
Babytalk Childcare was established in the year 2007. It is a privately owned childcare facility by Brother and Sister. Patricia O’Sullivan is Manager and Co-Owner of Babytalk Childcare.
“Working in the childcare sector is a dream come true. It is what I wanted to do all my life. I went into a different career when I finished college, but was never truly happy. To work with children was my goal and ambition. Then one day an opportunity presented itself which allowed me to open our own childcare facility. It is the most beautiful childcare facility which I just love.
I am the mother of two sons and I often refer to Babytalk as my ‘Third child’. It is not just a business to me, it is something very personal which I am very passionate about, and I adore being involved in the deliverance of top class, high quality childcare.
The facility definitely has a ‘Home Away From Home’ atmosphere and comfort. There are no more than 32 children present at any time, with 7 members of staff excluding myself, I am the 8th member of staff and am positioned in the office all the time. Because there is an extra member of staff who works full time (40hrs. per week). it allows for children to receive a lot of care and personal attention.”
Philosophy & Mission
Our objective is to provide the best care possible for children, while ensuring they are exposed to positive experiences in a safe, caring and nurturing environment. One where a ‘Positive Interaction Policy’ between child and carer is implemented.
All members of staff are highly qualified, Garda vetted and have references which have been verbally validated. Many staff members have many years of childcare experience.
Helping Your Child Explore, Grow, & Learn
We have a beautiful outdoor play area (garden), which is located off the Pre-School Room. The outdoor garden is a lovely and sensory area, made from natural materials where children love to explore.
There are garden box areas, bird houses and feeders which are hanging from the low level trees, mud kitchens, sand and water boxes, blackboards, and child sized seating areas with wooden seating benches.
The garden is very secure, with high fencing and a secured gate. The outside area also features safety flooring.
What We Offer
Curriculum
- Opening Hours: 8am-6pm daily. Monday – Friday. 50 Weeks of the year.
- Toddler, Pre-School and School Aged Childcare Facility.
- Babytalk Childcare is a Full Day Care, Part-Time, Sessional and School Aged Registered Service
- We have a Tusla Registered Maximum Capacity of 32 children at any time, which we cater for.
- Aistear Siolta Approved
Security
- The school is equipped with a recording CCTV and a fingerprint system at the main reception doors, which allows access into the facility only to authorised persons.
- No unauthorised person will gain entry into the facility at any time.
Participant Schemes
- We are participants in the Early Childhood Care and Education Scheme (ECCE). All children are offered 2 full academic years on the ECCE scheme, where they receive free pre-school for 3 hours per day, 5 days a week.
- We are participants in the National Childcare Scheme (NCS) which provides fin ancial support to parents. There are two types of childcare subsidy available:
- Universal Subsidy
- Targeted Subsidy
