Toddler Timetable
Toddler Room Daily Routine
8:00am Arrival and Breakfast Time.
- Welcome each child, greet and talk to parents regarding any information we need to know.
- Breakfast is given to any child who needs it. (supplied by parents.) and children’s beakers are in reach at all times throughout the day.
- Children take out a toy to play with or a story to read.
8:45 – 9:30am FreePlay.
- During this time, the children choose their own activities and get settled for the day as we wait for all children to arrive.
9:30 – 9:45am Morning Snack.
- Fruit, yoghurt, cheese, smoothie etc.
9:45 – 10:45 Structured Activities.
- During this time we have planned and structured activities that all toddlers are encouraged to join in.
- Examples such as: Table top activities, lego, painting, colouring and stickers, Playdough, jigsaws, group yoga.
10:45am Circle Time:
- All toddlers help the adults clean up the toys and sit in a circle on the mat area.
- During circle time we say “good morning” to each child individually, we take deep breaths to help relax, talk about animals, colours, numbers, feelings and sing different songs depending on the time of year.
11am Outdoor Time:
- We get ready with weather appropriate clothing and head out to the garden.
11:15am Nappy Changing Time.
12pm: Dinner Time: (hot nutritious meal supplied by parents)
- Toddlers come back in from the garden and get ready for dinner.
12:15 – 12:30pm Bed Time:
- Naptime in cots for children under 2 years in the cot room and children over 2 years are offered rest mats. Any child that is not having a sleep has the choice to read books, colour or do puzzles.
2pm: Afternoon Small Snack:
-Supplied by parents.
2:15pm Nappy Changes.
2:30 – 3:30pm Indoor/Outdoor play time
(weather permitting).
3:30 – 4pm Free Play:
- This time can also be used as a group activity, structured activities or music time.
4pm Afternoon Main Snack:
-Supplied by parents
4.15pm Quiet Time: Children take out books while the adults do the Cleaning.
4:30pm Home Time:
- Children’s bags and coats are prepared to go home and children’s nappies are checked before they leave.
